As of late 2025/early 2026, Norwegian now charges $5 for each additional main course in the complimentary Main Dining Room. Royal Caribbean still allows multiple entrees in the MDR at no extra charge. A family of four ordering one extra entree each per dinner adds $140 to a 7-night sailing.

Norwegian reversed its controversial private island drink policy on March 20, 2026. Standard Free at Sea and More at Sea packages are fully honored on Great Stirrup Cay. No Plus upgrade required. Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day at CocoCay has never had this restriction.

Norwegian Haven is widely considered the strongest ship-within-a-ship concept in mainstream cruising — a self-contained sanctuary with its own pool, sundeck, restaurant, bar, and butler service. Royal Caribbean's Suite Class doesn't create the same physical separation from the rest of the ship.

Choose Royal Caribbean for massive 'wow' moments: AquaTheater high-dive shows, Broadway productions, and ice skating on Oasis and Icon class. Choose Norwegian if you prefer high-quality intimate performance: Choir of Man is consistently the most emotionally resonant entertainment in Norwegian's fleet.

Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day at CocoCay is consistently rated higher for infrastructure, thrills, and beach quality. Important 2026 note: Great Stirrup Cay's new pier is under final construction through approximately July 2026. Many Norwegian ships will tender, adding 30-45 minutes of wait time.
